VSI crushers operate on the principle of material-on-material crushing. The material is fed through a circular cross-section feed chute. The fed material reaches the rotor through the feed tube due to gravity. The material that strikes the rotor reaches a speed of approximately 45-60 m/s. The material gains energy in this way and collides with the pile of crushed material in the crushing chamber, resulting in its fragmentation.
The latest addition to the VSI series, VSI 90, features a replaceable crushing chamber. The crushing chamber, which consists of plates and operates on the principle of breaking material by material, can
be easily removed and replaced with a crushing chamber consisting of conventional crusher liners. Additionally, another innovation that comes with VSI 90 is the ability to easily replace the closed rotor with an open rotor.
